Precautions for the use of ECG monitor

1. Use 75% alcohol to clean the surface of the measurement site to remove the stratum corneum and sweat stains on the human skin and prevent poor contact of the electrode pads. Fasten the electrode tip of the ECG lead wire with the electrodes on the 5 electrode pads. After the ethanol evaporates, attach the 5 electrode pads to the cleaned specific positions to make the contact reliable and prevent them from falling off.

2. When the grounding wire is used, the end with a copper sleeve should be connected to the grounding terminal on the rear panel of the host. (The method is to unscrew the ground terminal knob cap, put on the copper sheet, and then tighten the button cap). There is a clamp on the other end of the ground wire. Please clamp it on the public grounding end of the building facilities (water pipes, radiators and other places that directly communicate with the earth).

3. Choose the appropriate type of blood pressure cuff according to the patient’s condition. It is different for adults, children and newborns, and different specifications of cuffs must be used. Here, only adults are taken as an example.

4. After the cuff is unfolded, it should be wrapped around 1~2cm on the patient’s elbow joint, and the degree of tightness should be such that it can be inserted into 1~2 fingers. Too loose may lead to high pressure measurement; too tight may lead to low pressure measurement, and at the same time make the patient uncomfortable and affect the patient’s arm blood pressure recovery. The catheter of the cuff should be placed at the brachial artery, and the catheter should be on the extension of the middle finger.

5. The arm should be kept flush with the human heart, and the patient should be instructed not to talk or move when the blood pressure cuff is inflated.

6. The manometric arm should not be used to measure the body temperature at the same time, which will affect the accuracy of the body temperature value.

7. There should be no drips or malignant trauma, otherwise it will cause blood backflow or bleeding from the wound.

8. The patient’s nails should not be too long, and there should be no stains, dirt or onychomycosis.

9. The position of the blood oxygen probe should be separated from the blood pressure measuring arm, because when measuring blood pressure, the blood flow is blocked, and blood oxygen cannot be measured at this time, and the word “Spo2 probe is off” is displayed on the screen.

10. Generally choose lead II to observe and record heart rate and heart rhythm.

11. First confirm whether the electrode pads are properly pasted, check the placement position of the heart electrode pads, and check the quality of the heart electrode pads. On the basis that the electrode pads are pasted and there is no problem with the quality, check whether there is any problem with the lead wire.
